Edward Phillipson served as an Evangelical Minister at Aspatria from 1890 to 1925. He was a self-taught maker of violins and bows, utilizing Stradivari models. His amateur work featured a golden yellow oil varnish. Bows were crafted in the Tubbs pattern. E. Phillipson / No. 19. 1920.
