Ernst Kessler was a violin and bow maker. He was a pupil of August Voigt and Ludwig Otto. He worked for August Riechers in Berlin before establishing himself independently in Charlottenburg from 1882. He succeeded Riechers as the principal repairer to the Hochschule.
