Émile Germain
Violin maker

Émile Germain was the son of Joseph Louis Germain. He apprenticed in Mirecourt starting in 1865. In 1870, he succeeded to his father's business in Paris. He formed a partnership with Dehommais, who specialized in varnish, until 1882. He received a medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900. He was a prolific maker known for his personal model with fine workmanship. His bows, which were generally rather heavy, were branded: E. GERMAIN PARIS.
