Vahakn Y. Nigogosian

Vahakn Y. Nigogosian was an active violin maker from 1925. He was a pupil of Karekin Kurkdjian in Istanbul. In 1929, he went to Paris to work with Marcel Vatelot and returned to Turkey in 1936. He emigrated to the USA in 1958. For 10 years, he worked for Wurlitzer in New York alongside Simone Sacconi. He established himself independently in New York in 1969. He was a very highly regarded craftsman, engaged in fine restoration, and later became much involved with teaching. He made a small number of instruments and bows in America.
