Carl Mächler trained at Mittenwald under Kochendörfer. He was employed by Winterling in Hamburg, Kreiling in Munich, Niedt in Würzburg, Held in Cologne, Otto in Dusseldorf, Kessler in Mannheim, and later with Wahl in Karlsruhe and Zust in Zurich.
