Jean Eulry apprenticed at Laberte & Magnié from 192é to 1923. He worked for A. Dieudonné and, starting in 1957, for Apparut-Hilaire, where he became the workshop manager and director, retiring in 1977. He was well known and respected as a teacher of many successive luthiers.
