Carlo Pizzamiglio
Violin maker

Carlo Pizzamiglio trained as a cabinetmaker. He was a self-taught violin maker starting in 1932. While a prisoner of war in Egypt from 1941 to 1945, he made approximately 40 instruments using improvised tools and materials. He later established himself in Cortetano. His personal model featured spirit varnish. Carlo Pizzamiglio created instruments in 1979 and in 1949 in Cortetano, Cremona, Italy. He also made instruments in Egypt in 1942 at Campo 309 as a P. O. W.
