Sante de Coppi

Violin maker
(1787 – 1867)

Coppi appears to have been inspired by his brother-in-law Giuseppe dall'Aglio to take up violin making (he was originally a mason) by 1815. He was active until the mid 1830s, when he seems to have turned to dealing in instruments. Very few instruments survive; those with reliable labels date from 1815 and 1821.
