Alfredo Guastalla
Violin maker
(1898 – 1987)
Alfredo Guastalla was a pupil of Scarampella in Mantua and worked alongside his brother Dante Guastalla. The brothers were prolific makers, credited with over 250 violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. They worked on various classical models, as well as lesser-known patterns like Balestrieri and personal designs. He used a good golden-red varnish and signed his work internally.
