Nicolas Duchaine II
Bow maker
(1772 – 1840)
Nicolas Duchaine was a bow maker. He was the son, pupil, and assistant of Nicolas Duchaine (I). His work was similar to that of his father, featuring the same brand. According to Millant, during the period c. 1805-1810, his work became more modern, with the heads losing the rearward projecting backplate and the frogs becoming lower; however, it appears he never used the ferrule or silver button of the Tourte model.
