Victor Joseph Charotte produced superior work compared to other makers in the family and created imitations of Stradivari and Guarneri. He won medals and diplomas at the Paris exhibitions in 1900 and 1925. His workshop was taken over by Apparut. Charotte was a luthier based in Mirecourt.
