Dominique (Henry JV) Henry
Bow maker
(1789 – 1854)
Dominique (Henry JV) Henry was the brother of bow makers Jean Antoine and Etienne. He apprenticed in Mirecourt and established himself independently there around 1810, ceasing production around 1851. His work was fine but relatively rare, created in the style of Adam, featuring strong heads and sticks that were both round and octagonal, with low frogs and short throats. He branded his work as HENRY, which acknowledged the maiden name of his wife, Catherine JonVaux.
