Ignaz Johann Bucher was the son, pupil, and successor of Johann Bucher. He worked in Vienna and received medals at the Vienna Exhibition in 1873 for his quartet. His work was typical of the Viennese style, exhibiting a strong influence from Stradivari. He was known for his fine and accurate workmanship and was well regarded locally for his guitars and zithers.
