Jean Dominique Adam

Jean Dominique Adam, son of Jean Adam, was very probably apprenticed to his father around 1807–1810 and went on to work as his assistant, producing solid work in the style of Étienne Pajeot, albeit in limited quantity; his bows are stamped simply "Adam." His own son, Jean "Grand" Adam, trained under him in turn from 1835, quickly surpassing his father's own skill, and the two are known to have collaborated on bows — some signed jointly, ivory-and-nickel-silver examples among them — until the younger Adam left for Paris around 1842.
