Sebastian Dallinger created very good work on the Stainer model, featuring a high arch and deep edge flute. Instruments produced later were less extreme. The finish was very refined, and the scroll was finely carved, although it was sometimes replaced with a Stainer-like lion's head. The varnish was somewhat thin and not improved by a dull ground.
