Michael H. Lindsay
Violin maker

Michael H. Lindsay was a musician and self-taught violin maker, active from around 1860 in Stockton-on-Tees. He received a medal at the Liverpool Exhibition in 1886. His instruments featured a Stradivari model with original arching forms and his own golden-yellow amber oil varnish. The work and materials were of good quality. He was credited with the creation of over 500 violins, cellos, and double basses.
