Franz Xaver Schweigl

(1804 – 1834)

Franz Xaver Schweigl was a pupil of Martin Stoss. His fine work was based on a Stradivari model and was very accurately modeled. The varnish was of thin consistency, either red- or yellow-brown. Cellos were especially good. Due to his short working life, authenticated work is quite rare.
