Remy Family
Violin maker
–
Remy. The maker was born in Paris and was presumed to be part of the large Remy violin-making family there. He worked in London, UK, around 1840, creating copies of classical Italian works with appropriate shades of varnish. His work featured good craftsmanship and handsome materials. Occasionally, instruments were branded with 'Remy', although they were usually falsely labelled.
