Benjamin Patocka was a violin and bow maker. He was a pupil of Josef Metelka in Paseky in 1879. He worked in Glasersdorf, Prague, and Schumburg before returning to his birthplace in 1888. In 1894, he established himself in Jicin (Bohemia). He created very fine and accurate copies of Stradivari, Guarneri, and Stainer models using excellent materials. His own soft spirit varnish came in appropriate colors. He received numerous prizes in competitions, and some labels were in Cyrillic Russian. He produced good bows, many of which were acquired by soloists. Benjamin Patocka was known as houslar in Pasekách pod Krkonošemi, and as Benjamin Pasek, houslar in Pasekách n. Jizerou, with a postal address in Dolni Roketnice in 189.. He was also referred to as houslar in Jicine, Cechy, and as Geiyenmacher in Jicin, Bohemen. Additionally, he was identified as houslar v Jicine, Kral. Ceske, and as houslar v Jicine in 189.
