Christian Lechleitner
Violin maker
(c. 1758 – 1821)
Christian Lechleitner was a violinist and luthier, active from around 1797 in Leiden. Some of his instruments exhibited a very Tyrolean style, characterized by high arches and dark varnish; others were crafted more in the style of contemporary Dutch makers, Lefebvre and Cuypers, featuring heavy yellow varnish. His production was varied, with a few instruments of superior quality.
