Joseph Benedikt Gedler I

(1755 – 1830)

Joseph Benedikt Gedler was the son and pupil of Johann Anton Gedler. He preferred the Stainer model, which was well-made and lacked unnecessary exaggeration. The scrolls were slightly inferior. The varnish was generally dark, thin, and opaque. He worked as a Lauten- und Geigen Macher in Füssen in 1786.
