Jean Baptiste Deshayes Salomon established himself in Paris on the rue de Grenelle Saint Honoré at the sign 'Sainte-Cécile'. He married Barbe Deshaies, the widow of J. Ouvrard, in 1748. Recognizable models include Chappuy and Guersan, and there was little consistency throughout his entire oeuvre. His varnish ranged from a softer red-brown to a hard pale golden-brown.
