George W. Fisk

George W. Fisk was a self-taught maker who established himself in Greeler in 1876. A total of 163 instruments were made by him. His early work, numbered up to 60, was based on the Guarneri model; later instruments were copied from a 1710 Stradivari violin. The varnish used was red and orange.
