Carl Friedrich Pfretzschner was admitted to the guild of violin makers in 1765. He was a distinguished maker of the Saxon school and a prolific craftsman. His instruments featured a High Stainer model with elegant Amatisé edges and purfling, while the scroll also exhibited proportions reminiscent of Cremona.
