Frederick James Buckley
Bow maker

Frederick James Buckley moved to Boston in 1892. He was a pupil and assistant of Clark Powers. He established himself in St. Louis in 1904. He was a maker, repairer, and bow maker. About 70 well-observed copies of Guarneri and Stradivari were produced, featuring golden orange varnish. His bows had octagonal sticks and a personal model for the head. All work was branded: 'F. J. Buckley'.
