Knud Hjorth
Violin maker

Knud Hjorth was the second son of Emil Theodor Hjorth and the brother of Otto Hjorth. He joined the family workshop with Otto in 1905 and worked alongside him from 1906. Before this, he was a pupil and assistant to Emil Hjorth and worked for Kessler in Berlin. His craftsmanship included Cremonese models and close copies of individual master instruments, utilizing golden-red oil varnish. Hjorth operated from Frederiksborggade 12 in Köbenhavn.
