Johann Paul Schorn is a musician and luthier active in Innsbruck from 1654 to 1684. He is appointed to the service of the Archbishop of Stuttgart in 1684. According to labels, he lives in Mülln, Salzburg from 1689 and returns to Salzburg around 1696-1720 as a musician to the court. His fine Stainer copies feature good golden-brown varnish. A violin from 1719 is in the Cherubini Museum, Florence, showcasing a finely carved lion's head. A pochette dated 1695, believed to have belonged to Mozart, is located in the Salzburg Museum. Extant instruments also include lutes, viol, viole d'amore, and guitars.
