Antonio Indri
Violin maker
(1781 – 1867)
Antonio Indri was a violin and string maker. He was the son of string maker Leonardo Indri and possibly a pupil of Giuseppe Molinari. He registered as a luthier in Venice starting in 1805. He exhibited in Vienna in 1839 and in London in 1851. His work was slightly crude, featuring a rather unformed outline and edgework, along with a hard orange-red varnish typical of the later Venetian school.
