George Cousineau shared the workshop of J. Ouvrard around 1735. He was apprenticed to F. Lejeune circa 1748. He subsequently established himself at rue Bourg de Brie. In 1769, he became a Master of the Corporation of Makers of Musical Instruments in Paris. He was appointed luthier to Queen Marie Antoinette.
