Riccardo Genovese
Violin maker
(1883 – 1935)
Riccardo Genovese was nearly 30 before be began to pursue violin making seriously around 1922, and his early work for Annibale Fagnola seems rather inexperienced compared with his output after 1930. He favored a personal interpretation of a Pressenda model, but with his own particular methods of construction, including holes in the upper and lower blocks fixed with wooden pins and a dry, often reddish varnish.
