Maxime Angard
Violin maker

Maxime Angard was professionally active from 1890. He established himself at 23 Passage Delaruelle, Paris, and later at 82 rue Liebnitz. His work was innovative, including one violin made from oak. He invented a new peg system known as 'La Sécurité' and used his own varnish. He received assistance from noted player Maurice Hayot in regulating instruments. In 1912, he won first prize for tone in Paris. Instruments were signed internally. A printed label was included.
