Arvil Olaf Anderson was a full-time violin maker since his retirement in 1971, having studied under Bela Latjay in San Diego. He created Guarneri model violins and later transitioned to Stradivari model violins and cellos, using Tertis and Clifford Hoing patterns for violas. Anderson employed American woods and commercial varnish in his work, completing approximately 200 instruments, which included some guitars, as well as 30 bows branded: AVRIL O ANDERSON.
