(1850 – 1925)
Carl Hermann Voigt was a pupil of 0. Bausch as a bow maker before he joined Nemessanyi in Budapest in 1867. He worked in Vienna for Lemböck in 1871. From 1876, he established himself independently on Nüssdorferstrasse, Vienna. He subsequently took over the shop of C. F. Schmidt and was appointed luthier to the Viennese court, becoming president of the Austrian guild of violin makers. He retired in 1910, passing his business to G. Rauer. He received several medals and created fine copies of the Stradivari 1714 'Dolphin' violin with appropriately coloured varnish. He also made violas, cellos, double basses, and bows in various grades.
