Julius Heinrich Zimmermann established a music publishing company in St. Petersburg in 1876, eventually opening branches in Moscow in 1882, Leipzig in 1886, and Riga in 1905. He founded a factory in St. Petersburg in 1895 for all instruments, bows, and accessories, employing workmen from Saxony. In 1908, he relocated to Markneuldrchen. His violins and cellos were available in various grades: 'Solo' and 'Concert', and were generally of very high quality. Bows were branded: JUL. HEINR. ZIMMERMANN, LEIPZIG.
