Julius Heinrich Zimmermann established a music publishing company in St. Petersburg in 1876, eventually opening branches in Moscow in 1882, Leipzig in 1886, and Riga in 1905. He founded a factory in St. Petersburg in 1895 for all instruments, bows, and accessories, employing workmen from Saxony. In 1908, he relocated to Markneuldrchen.
