Charles Simonin II
Violin maker
(1815 – c. 1880)
Charles Simonin apprenticed and assisted J. B. Vuillaume in Paris. He established himself independently in Geneva in 1841 and moved to Toulouse in 1849. He received an honourable mention at the Paris Exposition in 1855. His work included Guarneri models, as well as some double-purfled models in the style of Vuillaume. He branded his instruments with 'S. C. '.
