Violin maker

Otto Schünemann became a luthier under the influence of Dr. Wirsing of Prague and was mainly self-taught in Hamburg. In 1888, he founded a violin making school in Schwerin with the patronage of the Duke of Mecklenburg, returning to Hamburg in 1898. He created a finely made compact model featuring a flat arch, large scroll, fine materials, and red-brown varnish.
