William Ringwood
(1773 – 1842)
William Ringwood apprenticed to T. Perry from 1785. He established himself at 150 Abbey Street in 1810 and formed a partnership with J. Wheatley in 1829. He had various addresses, including 27 St Mary Street in 1832, 15 Abbey Street in 1833, 16 Towns Street in 1841, and 14 Towns Street in 1842. His son Arthur succeeded him. One known example featured very refined Panormo-like work based on the Stradivari model, using plain materials and a thin red-brown varnish of very good quality.
