Johann Padewet I


Violin maker
(d. 1872)

Johann Padewet was a self-taught violin maker. He moved to Karlsruhe in 1845 and established himself in Kaiserstrasse. He was appointed luthier to the Duke of Baden and received awards at exhibitions in Munich, Paris, and London. His work followed the Stainer model, showcasing good workmanship and varnish.
