Johann Padewet II
(1850 – 1901)
Johann Padewet was the son and pupil of Johann Padewet (I) and also completed an apprenticeship with A. Riechers in Hanover. In 1872, he succeeded to his father's business and appointment to the court. He was a prolific maker of Cremonese models, known for his neat work with fine golden-red oil varnish, although many of the instruments he retailed were of poorer quality with spirit varnish. He received awards at Karlsruhe, Mannheim, and Strasbourg and was a highly regarded repairer and restorer.
