Daniel Moinel
(b. 1901)
Daniel Moinel was the son and pupil of Charles Moinel. He apprenticed with his uncle L. Cherpitel in Mirecourt. He worked for his father Charles in Paris. Briefly, he was employed by Maucotel and Deschamps around 1921, but he returned to the family business before establishing himself independently at rue de Mesnil and later at 45 rue de Rome from 1934. He created fine Stradivari and Guarneri models with orange or red-brown varnish. His work was branded internally and occasionally externally on the lower rib.
