Joseph Rudolf Lenhart

(1862 – after 1902)

Joseph Rudolf Lenhart emigrated to the USA in 1902. He created classical Italian and Stainer models in various grades, utilizing both spirit and oil varnishes. One eccentric design from 1869 featured soundholes cut in the center ribs instead of in the belly, with the treble foot of the bridge extending through the belly onto the back. He also varnished the interior.
