Robert Laumann
(1870 – 1932)
Robert Laumann studied under Nandor. He worked for J. F. Schunda. He established himself independently in Budapest in 1895, initially at Elisabeth Circle and later at 25 Semmelweis Street. He received medals in Paris in 1900, Budapest in 1896, and Vienna. He was assisted by Peter-Paul Beke and Jozsef Spitz. He created fine copies of Stradivari instruments and used good clear varnish in red and yellow shades. Laumann Robert was a violin maker located at Budapest, IV Kossuth Lajos-1 (Ferenciek-bazara) in 1891.
