Alfred Charles Langonet
(1917 – 1973)
Alfred Charles Langonet was the son and pupil of Charles Frank Langonet. He worked in the workshop of W. E. Hill & Sons from around 1933 to 1939. After serving in the R. A. F., he established a partnership with his father in London starting in 1945. He was an excellent craftsman, restorer, and connoisseur. He received a silver medal at Stradivari's Commemoration Exposition in Cremona in 1949, along with awards at the Hague in 1949 and Liege in 1954. He won the British Violin Makers' Exhibition in 1952.
