Michele Angelo Garani

(c. 1665 – after 1743)

Michele Angelo Garani created very fine work in the Tononi style. The purfling was neat and positioned close to the edge. It featured a finely carved and concentric scroll with a delicate chamfer. The arching was low yet full. A rich red-brown varnish covered a golden ground. It was branded on the upper back: `Garanus Bologna'.
