Giuseppe & Carlo Fiscer Fratelli
Violin maker
(c. 1750 – 1780)
Giuseppe & Carlo Fiscer Fratelli were assumed to be of German origin. They primarily made plucked instruments, although violins were also recorded. Their models resembled Amati or Staineresque styles, with scrolls that were rather crude. The varnish was a light golden-brown. Some cellos were reported. A mandolin dated 1763 was part of the Cherubini collection in Florence. A label cited by Vidal read: Giuseppe Carlo fratelli Fiscer /fabricators di strumenti in Milano / Vicino Alla Balla, 1764. There was also a label indicating Carlo worked alone.
