Justin Victor Diter
(1866 – 1941)
Justin Victor Diter apprenticed to Paul Bailly. He worked for Blanchard in Lyons from 1890 to 1896. In the following year, he opened a shop in Passage de l'Arque (later at the Hotel de Ville) in Lyons with C. Resuche, but soon relocated to Marseilles, taking over the shop of M. Richelme in partnership with Palanque. His brother Paul joined him in 1901; they established their business in Marseilles from 1897 to 1926. He produced fine work in the style of J. B. Vuillaume, creating copies of classical instruments with shaded varnish.
