Piero Parravicini

Piero Parravicini worked as a pupil of R. Antoniazzi. He was employed by Monzino in Milan from 1924 to 1925. He received medals in Rome in 1925 and 1929, in Cremona in 1949, and in Rome in 1954. His work was characterized by fine, disciplined craftsmanship based on classical Italian models, and he was known for producing well-regarded cellos and double basses. He used good materials and a rich orange varnish. He was credited with creating 600 violins, 10 violas, 12 cellos, and three double basses. His instruments were branded internally with the name 'Piero Parravicini'.
