Ferdinando Alberti
Violin maker
(fl. 1730 – 1750)
Ferdinando Alberti operated at the `segno di Corona', which had previously been the address of Giovanni Grancino. A later label indicated the address as `Contrada del Pesce', but it remained at the 'sign of the crown'. His work featured fine craftsmanship in the Grancino style, characterized by a golden-yellow varnish. He was known for a distinctive large scroll. In 1737, he was located in Contrada Larga di Milano at the Segno di Corona. In 1745, he created works in Milano at the Contrada del Pesce, also at the Segno della Corona.
