Umberto Muschietti was a double bass player and maker, credited with 160 violins, 18 violas, eight cellos, and two double basses. One of his basses, a replica of his own five-string Santagiuliana instrument, is now housed in the Museo Stradivariano in Cremona. He received medals at Fiume, Rome, Padua, and Florence. His work was signed internally as 'Umberto Muschietti. '.
