Otto Migge
Violin maker
(b. 1857)
Otto Migge established a violin making school in Koblenz in 1880, known as Atelier für Cremoneser Geigenbaukunst. He worked in London starting in 1896 and moved to Eastbourne, Sussex in 1908. He authored a book titled The Secret of the celebrated Italian Violin makers, discovered and explained, published by Fischbacher in Frankfurt in 1894. His violins featured classical Italian models, some adorned with additional decorative purfling, and were generally finished with dark brown varnish.
